Here are some Biergarten pictures from Munich...

Sean drinking a Weißbier (Hefeweizen) at the Viktualienmarkt Biergarten

The "maple tree" at the entrance to the Biergarten - it displays what types of beer and food are served along with the merchants selling crafts and other goods...

Me drinking a beer at the Englischer Gartern (English Garden) Biergarten - this is Munich's "Central Park" and it is the largest park in Europe! More than 100,000 people visit the park on summer days...no doubt drinking some beer!

Panorama of the Biergarten with a Chinese Tower in the middle - we rented bikes for the afternoon and cruised around this awesome park...

So Prague is pretty damn cool...we walked all over town again yesterday, ate good food, and drank great/cheap beer.  We also went to a Pipe Organ Concent at an old Braque Church!

Yesterday we arrived in Prague after a 5hr train ride from Berlin.  The train was awesome.  We had our own compartment, so we listened to some music, ate some snacks and had some adult beverages.  Once we arrived, we quickly found a place to stay on the edge of the "Old Town" district.  We also were lucky enough to arrive on the evening that Czech was playing Poland in the Euro 2012!  We found a bar and watched the game with some locals.  Luckily Czech Republic won or it would have made for a even more crazy atmosphere!  I think we have found the Beer Drinkers paradise.  Half liters of beer were only 30Kc which is about $1.50.  There is also places off the beaten path that have local brews for under 20Kc - that's less than $1.00 for a ,5L beer!!!

Hope everyone back home is doing well...we're headed out for the day, so I'll post more later...Na shledanau!

Sean pounded his bier outside on a Thursday evening in Berlin!

I made it!  Just arrived in Berlin after 29hrs hours of traveling! To top it off, Sean walked into our room at The Circus Hostel literally 20 minutes after I did.

Here's a quick recap of my 29 hour journey to Berlin...

I left my house in Seattle on Wednesday morning at 5:00am.  Got on flight to Philadelphia with no problems.  Once in Philly, I was flying standby to Frankfurt and the first flight was fully booked.  No luck for me - didn't make the list to get on.  The next flight to Frankfurt was in two hours and my chances were looking pretty slim.  Here's the plane that showed me no love...

So, I started looking into my other options...I could fly into Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels, or Zurich.  All of the flights were fully booked as well due to some bad weather the night before.  As I waited for the flight to Munich, my chances kept dwindling as each late passenger they paged eventually showed up...until, the very last guy...he didn't make it in time, so his loss was my gain!!!

After an 8hr flight to Munich, my next challenge was to get on a train to Berlin.  No sweat!  I made it to the city center and main rail station, got my German Rail Pass validated and was off to Berlin - this was a 6hr trip with one connection in Nuremberg.  Of course I had to have a beer while traveling on the Deutch Bahn!

Once in Berlin, I took a local train to Aleanderplatz and then the subway to my final destination.  I checked into the Hostel, walked into the room, threw my bag down and took off my shoes.  And, like clockwork, Sean walked in shortly after me...holy shit what amazing timing!  Now he's telling me to stop typing so we can go get a beer or 4...Prost!

Off to Germany!

And so, let the adventure begin....

I'll be trying to leave Seattle first thing Wednesday morning (June 13th) heading to Philadelphia and then off to Frankfurt, Germany.  From Frankfurt, I'm going to hop a train (not Hobo style) to Berlin where I'll be meeting up with Sean.

I'll try to post as much as possible during my trip, but keep in mind that Beer may be an obstacle...in a good way...

Speaking of Beer, Germans really do love beer.  They rank second in world-wide beer consumption per person after Ireland. Bier is officially considered a food in Bayern, where the normal size beer glass, the Mass is 1 liter.

It gets even better...Germany is the cheapest place in Europe to buy beer, but also the most difficult in which to make a choice - there are over 1,500 different brands and types of beer in this country!

Also, Euro Cup 2012 is happening in Poland and Ukraine right now, so in the spirit of sport...

Well, that's all for now...keep your eye out for more posts coming soon...with pictures...and beautiful football fans...and probably Beer...

Wir sprechen uns bald!
